DineOut is a festival that takes place in February every year. I love trying out different restaurants during this festival as they have special menus with set prices. It’s a lot of fun as you get a full course meal and you discover new restaurants.
Today my sister and I had reservations at Atlas Steak + Fish. Their DineOut menu for was on the higher end, being $40. For our starter we both got the tomato bisque, followed by a 7oz Angus Reserve Striploin Steak. For dessert we got the Baked Alaska, which cost an extra $4 per person.
The tomato bisque and steak were quite nice, as expected. The soup was just a regular tomato soup served with a parmesan crisp, and the steak was juicy and tender. The dessert on the other hand looked quite fancy. The server sprayed a vanilla liquor on it and then torched it, which was cool to see. I think this was what attracted us to picking this dessert. Unfortunately we did not enjoy our choice of dessert as it was tangy and lemon flavoured paired with raspberry ice-cream. The flavours did not cut it for us. We would have preferred a more subtle flavour such as chocolate or coffee.
