Rocko’s Diner in Mission is the famous Pops Chocklit Shoppe from Riverdale! If you’re a Riverdale fan, you have to visit this infamous Diner at least once. The best part about the diner is that it’s open 24 hours. The diner is usually at its busiest – around lunchtime, however the wait isn’t too long. We waited for about 15 minuted before we were seated, which was not too bad. They have a lot of seating inside which is awesome.
My thoughts before going in:
As a fan of Riverdale / Archie comics, I was really excited to see this diner. I wanted to see if the place looked identical to what I see in the show. The iconic red seat booths, the checkered floor, the dingy atmosphere.
My sister and I shared some deep fried french toast and a mushroom and cheese omelet. The french toast was quite delicious, but a tad bit too greasy for my liking. The strawberry sauce it came with was really good too! The omelet was quite basic, as I expected and the hash browns that came with it were also good.
One cannot go to Rocko’s diner and not get a milkshake! We got the Maple Walnut and the Toasted Marshmallow. I can assure you, they did not disappoint. If you have a sweet tooth, I would recommend the Toasted Marshmallow milkshake.
The food was just what I would expect at a diner. The wait wasn’t too bad, however I was waiting outside the diner, and lucky for me it was nice and sunny so I did not mind as much. Not sure I’d be as thrilled if it was cold or raining. The service was fast, the food came quite quickly and I got to experience visiting the iconic diner. It was a little underwhelming because of how simple the place was. I think it’s important to realize that is it a real life restaurant and not just a prop.
Have you visited the diner in Mission, if so what did you think?
